Born in 1965, Sarah Jessica Parker  (SJP to most that know her), knew she was destined for something greater. Trained in ballet and singing, SJP got her first shot at stardom as a young girl on Broadway in the revival of “The Innocent.” She later went on to study at the School for Creative and Performing Arts, The School of American Ballet, and the Professional Children’s School.

During her early acting career, she performed in a number of theater productions. In 1982, Parker was cast as the main character in the television sitcom “Square Pegs.” This led the way to be cast in a number of big films later on, including “Footloose,” “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Honeymoon in Vegas,” and opposite Johnny Depp in the critically acclaimed movie “Ed Wood.”

Sara Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in "Sex and the City"
Perhaps though, Sarah Jessica Parker is known far and wide as Carrie Bradshaw from the HBO dramedy “Sex and the City.” Her character defined fashionable, single living in New York City during the late 1990s, early 2000s. Her character’s style choices were so popular, even her special Carrie Name Necklace  became a symbol, with every girl wanting her own name in the Carrie font to wear around her neck! Carrie Bradshaw was known for not just the situations she got into or the guys that she slept with, but also her fashion choices. Fashion designers have stepped over one another to have Carrie in their designs, including Alexander McQueen, Manolo Blahnik, Prada, and Yves Saint Laurent. But it wasn't just her clothes that were fabulous, Parker’s acting was impeccable, and can be easily seen in the number of awards she has won for her portrayal of this iconic character, including a Gold Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and an Emmy Award in 2004.
It’s not just her character on Sex in the City who loved fashion and everything about it, but SJP is known to the fashion world as well. From appearing in 14 different outfits as host of the 2000 MTV Movie Awards, to being the face of a number of fashion campaigns, including Garnier and GAP, Sarah is no slouch when it comes to the world of fashion. In 2005, she created her first perfume, “Lovely,” and followed it up in 2007 with a second scent called “Covet” and three more fragrances in 2009 – “Twilight,” “Dawn,” and “Endless.” Also in 2007, SJP launched her own fashion line “Bitten” alongside clothing chain Steve & Barry’s. She has also appeared as a guest judge on “Project Runway” in 2007.
