Would George Washington Have Worn a Name Necklace?
We're not really sure, but tomorrow we celebrate Washington's Birthday, which has now been changed to the federal holiday called Presidents' Day. While a shiny silver name necklace wouldn't have been practical when General Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware at night (due to chances of British troops seeing the sparkle at night) it would have been mighty cool for his inauguration ceremony to have a necklace saying "President" or even in modern day slang "Prez"...
Abraham Lincoln also was born during February which is another reason why Presidents' Day is celebrated during this month. What would Lincoln have gotten on his necklace, had he elected to wear one? We were thinking something like "Honest Abe" on this double name necklace, or maybe even "Emancipator"?!?
Better yet, even though both Lincoln and Washington did not have middle names, they still would have been able to enjoy a monogram necklace! This is because all our monogram necklaces can have between one to three initials on them. So even GW or AL would have looked great on them.
So if you have ambitions one day to become the president, or even if you're just the student council president, Presidents' Day is a perfect time to get President, or anything else you want on your necklace.
