6 Date Ideas this Valentine's Day for Newbie Couples

New couples really feel the pressure on Valentine's Day. They haven't been together all that long BUT Valentine's Day is the day to share with your significant other, so there is some kind of expectation that you will do something. Here's the thing though - you don't want to be too fancy, but at the same token, you don't want to do nothing. That's okay, we have some great date ideas for new couples!

valentines day for new couples
If you are a new couple, how are you spending your Valentine's Day?

Take a Hike

Depending on where you are, it may be a great day to visit a local forest and check out the hiking trails. Pack a lunch filled with fun goodies. It is a great way to get to know one another, especially if you are both nature lovers.

Climb a Mountain...Sort Of

One of the hottest date trends is indoor mountain climbing. It allows you to see what each of you is made of, and because it is an exercise in trust you will both bond over the challenge of getting to the top.

Have Fun at the Flea Market

Head on over to your local flea market and get lost in all the stalls of fun and wacky stuff. Try on vintage clothing, find out-of-date items, and see what treasures you can unearth. Set a monetary limit and buy the other a token to remember this fun day!

Skip Dinner and Go Straight for Dessert

Dinner can be very overwhelming, especially for new couples. So, skip the formality and just head to your favorite dessert spot to share a piece of cake. And then you don't need to worry about those pesky reservations!

Visit a Food Truck and Walk Around the City

Who doesn't love food trucks?! Find a food truck that you both can agree on, grab some grub, and take a walk around town. Point out things you both like, search around new corners you've never seen, and have a bit of fun.

Be Entertained

You don't have to splurge on expensive concert tickets or the like. Instead, check out current exhibits at the museum, see if the local library is offering any free movie screenings, or head on over to an improv club or coffee house.

And if you need a Valentine's Day gift idea for your significant someone, we have all sorts of personalized jewelry options for you! No matter if you are a new couple or you've been together for ages, we have something for you!
